Highly unlikely that part of the derailleur will bend, it’s a pretty beefy piece. The derailleur hanger, the part of the bike that the derailleur mounts to, will bend first.

Kool Stop makes excellent replacement pads for your bike. The type for yours would be Dura Type.

Easy remove and replace; loosen the bolt on the side of the pad holder, slide the old pads out....
