I bought a trek T900 last year so a friend of mine whos has heart problems could still enjoy riding without over-extending herself, the bike was under $800 new and is really quite comfortable :)

you might try taking the bike to the shop where you bought the pedals and have them install them, they might do it free or just a few dollars, also I have found it helps people new to clipless pedals...

my local bike shop cut both of my csrbon steerers with no problem, a winwood on my trek2000 and an alpha Q on my older Lemond :beer:
