I keep track of my miles with my polar heart rate monitor which also logs many other things, including miles. I then upload the data to my computer and the polar precision software graphs it nicely.

What I wear in the bay area is a serius headband, cashmere sweater, windbreaker, fleece gloves and tights. My sweater stays warm even when damp, is light and feels good against the skin.

I have two superflashes and a dinotte. If I were on a limited budget, I would go with three superflashes. They are bright, great mount and great battery life and an excellent value.
