No way. Vintage Dura Ace is of unassailable functionality and quality. It looks great on any frame, even an Italian one.

Bicycle sizing followed different formulae back in the old days. Sizes that would be larger nowadays were considered medium-sized back then.

Well all frames are different, but generally, old frames are able to accept wide tires. I don't think they'd go much wider than 28mm, though.
