I learned this one the hard way. Check the glue around the valve stem. If it's not solidly glued in that area the tire will stick and unstick every revolution, making a ticking sound.

The only bling in this area would be ceramic, and I'd be very careful especially with BB30 as the bearings are pressed in. Any lateral force on the bearings in the races can damage them.

Shimano threaded BB's are all pretty much the same. The cost difference isn't that much between 5700 and 7900 but either would be fine. I run the SRAM BB30 bearings in my Felt, they're fine too.

I would avoid spacers and adapters if possible. They work, but they are a compromise. I went from a GXP with BB30 adapters to straight BB30. The Q was the same but the crank is noticably stiffer.

I use Zipp aero. Steel on the training wheels, titanium on the race wheels. Whatever you get, make sure yo can crank the rear down enough to keep the dropouts parallel and thus the hanger straight.
