Yeah. I had looked before, but there seems to be many more 7 speed shifters out there than 8. And getting some under $100 on ebay has proven problematic. But I will keep looking.

If you overhaul the BB properly it will stay adjusted for a long time and may not need to be adjusted again. But then, you may have no choice but to replace it as well

This guy. Its got nitto B115s with hoods and a shorter stem now as well as a 44rn chainring and brooks team pro saddle now. Though the gumwalls and tape may be swapped for all black if paint is done....
