I thought lateral stiffness in the sprints was the reason that track forks seem to prefer rounder blades rather than the thin aero ones that are on TT bikes.

Another fork question. Do any track riders use aluminum forks? All the higher end forks seem to be carbon, but wouldn't an aluminum fork also improve the stiffness of the bike for sprints?
