i didnt mean to imply that older bikes are bad, i rode a centurion conversion and loved it but i didnt pay 400 for the complete bike before i converted it. it also had a shimano 600ex set with araya...

Because he put money in to it and that's what he feels it's worth or is trying to get money back or both.

it's over 20 years old with out a complete grouppo and it isn't a high end frame.

Decent looking conversion, I wouldn't offer more than 200 though.
For around 200 more you can get a new entry lever fg/fw complete that isn't over 20 years old.
