That seat will work fine. I also built a beater around the rack. Don't want that kind of weight on my 'fun' bike.

Had 50kg on this one. It holds up fine. But it is a heavy steel rack. I carry 30kg of 6 year old on it no problem.

Use the seat post collar to mount a rack and then attach the seat to the rack. Also makes a good grocery carrier. I found I had to replace the QR with a bolt to get really secure though....
