As I don't have it... I would be guessing. But from others I have seen and this one I think rubber. Perhaps stitched or faux stitched. I really hope that survives. Whether leather or plastic.......

I think this is a place to jump in. I am interested in when Lejeune bought Sauvage. I have a bike on its way to me and it is Sauvage (as opposed to Sauvage-Lejeune. I suspect that helps date it. ...
