You don't need the wheel magnet with your PT, the 500 will take speed from the PT and cadence from the GSC-10. You can also swap in a normal wheel with a magnet.

The difference (925-675) is $250, same as the 500 only, but CC includes the combo pack that retails for $350. The add-ons, the GSC-10 and old-style HR strap, can be bought separately for $50-60.
