Bought some Forte "Strada SL" tires yesterday, they were cheap for a (purportedly) higher-end tire. We'll see how this goes. I also got some new bar tape. My TCR Is getting a makeover tonight!!!

IDK. IIRC, the 7900's have a longer than standard throw (or something?), and weren't compatible with regular levers, but I may be wrong about that. At any rate used 7800 on fleabay is the way to go...

Dura Ace brakes are the best! In general I prefer Shimano brakes (at any tier) over their big competitors - a little heavier, but they are more reliable and have the best stopping power IME.

I make two formulations, a high conc (50%) that I clean the drivetrain with using a brush,

and a low conc (~20%) in a bucket with one of those big auto sponges that fill cracks and holes

I also only due more than clean and re-lube a chain very seldomly throughout the year, maybe quarterly or so. San Diego is pretty dry.
