New Bike!

Lapierre Sensium 400 frame, built up with Ultegra parts and Miche wheels. I've had it about a week, and with our lousy weather haven't ridden it much yet, but so far I'm loving it!

My conversion back in February (non UST): lose the tube, switch the rim strip, add the Stan's. Pretty simple. Did a re-charge of Stan's in July. Close to 1000 trail miles with no flats.

You've probably thought of this, but why not just sell your bike and buy a new Trek 2.1 (or something comparable)? You'd have your compact and all new stuff for about the same $$ as upgrading your...

OP here...

I measured, and my bolt circle diameter is 130mm, so even more definitely not a compact. Wonder why Scott claims it is....

52/39 = compact?

Is a 52/39 crankset a compact?

When I started shopping for my first roadbike, I did a little research and decided with my age, weight, fitness level and no desire to race that a Compact crankset...

I think they've got some autonomy. Our shop opened with a bunch of Rocky Mtn 'big-hit' full suspension bikes that are just overkill for our local trail riding. Now they sell Scotts and Konas with...

I spent two full seasons on an '06 F300 and I'd highly recommend it. No, the Manitou isn't an air shock, but it worked fine. The V-Brakes were strong enough to lock up either wheel and yet had a...
