I run slime, with slime liners, in thorn resistant tubes, along with kevlar lined tires in the winter. Heavy as all get out but, NO FLATS! :D

The coldest I've gotten to so far is -19* with the windchill on a 13 mile commute. It was not a pleasant experience and I'm not looking forward to the next time. AT ALL! :D
