Max tire width for 1981 Trek 612/613?

Hi all,

Recently picked up a very nice 1981 Trek 613 (531 Main tubes). I've had two of these over the years and couldn't resist a minty 24-inch frame in that bronze/copper color when I came across...

I finally figured it out! Tire, the tire of all things! A Big Apple with 5000 miles, it looked pretty good still but the inside had totally broken down. We pulled it off and it was like a wet...

Bianchigirl has a couple Protos, including one I used to own. Would love to find a big one someday. Or Bianchi MTB frame in MAX.

LOVED that bike, just too small.

I can't get it to make the sound in a stand, but if I just put my weight on the right pedal it starts up. I was originally worried about the hub because it got really dirty and corroded after the...

Sorry for the delay in getting back.

Just got the wheel back from the shop where they really went through it, whatever that means. No sound for about a mile and then it slowly comes back. After...

Found this thread looking for anyone else having trouble with these hubs. I have been riding this hub for three years (one full year through the winter in Indiana, two years with light use in...

Thanks all,

Yes, I need a fatbike! Especially today with 12+ inches coming down.

I settled on some high quality MTB racing tires. Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1. I took the advice of a local LBS...

Yes, maybe I'll just get a set of those studded tires. I like how the center is clear of studs. I'm running a fancy SON front hub and big light because about half of my 14-mile commute is on a trail...

Hi all-

Commuting on a 26-inch wheel bike for the first time in winter (previous years I ran cyclocross tires on assorted 700c bikes) and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a fast rolling...

I think all my bikes end up as gravel grinders. Indianapolis has so few interesting places to ride that you really need a versatile and sturdy bike.

I have one. The new one in silver, all parts still in the bags and never mounted. I'm looking for one of the older ones (MTB) in silver. But I'd consider other trades. PM me if you're interested.

I like these racks, but they are sometimes hard to find. My experience is that going with the wrong sized rack will result in a tilted rack platform. I jut put a vintage (tall) one on a modern Surly...

2012 Big Dummy color and bags / Bar suggestions.

Has anyone seen the new Big Dummy in the grey, or seen any pics?

My LBS said he couldn't get the grey one until mid-April, don't know if that's nationwide. The black is in stock so maybe someone...

Have to say that it does seem time to try a "higher quality" frame, just to see the difference. An 80s Trek or decent Nishiki (or the like) could provide an interesting comparison for under $100 and...
