The main reason for the use of a double/single and not a triple is that you are better off running if you need to go as low/slow as using the granny.

Thanks! Yeah, 4 Bridgestone's actually. 3 MB-1's and an RB-1. Almost had a Rivendell but a mistake in sizing forced me to give up the frame after it was built, so i got the Waterford instead.
