Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, putting a few thousand of miles over two years on those components won't really cause destruction but I would imagine it will cause aggravation to the rider.

The reason I've never fallen is because when I first got clipless my lbs insisted I spend a good twenty minutes breaking them in on a trainer. I'm sure without that experience I would have fallen.

I've crashed riding clipless, I've skidded in rain and on sand, I've been taken out while riding clipless, but never have I fallen or crashed *because* of my clipless pedals.
