Yup, it's a solid piece held in there by 2 bolts....

Yup, it's a solid piece held in there by 2 bolts. Seems quite a bit more solid design than some others that have cutouts down low where the wheels attach.

Did 30 miles on it yesterday to give it a real shakedown. Plenty of hills too and that belt drive just works beautifully. Silent and smooth.

Thanks man, I think you're right. Not sure why the builder did that but in looking more at the shapes of each lever it does appear they are swapped. I'll switch them around.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I think cranks and pedals seem at the top of the list for me.....then maybe a CF fork for sexiness :)

I'll have to check out that bar bag too...good idea.
