Thanks for the advice, the rear brake is routed behind the handlebars, but the front is not. Im going to reroute it tonight. Hopefully I'll flip it in the spring.

As promised, update. Thanks for the advice guys. I cleaned all the paint out of where it is not supposed to be. I could never loosen the quill. So for $75 for the bike (overpaid) in its original...
