I'm big into 1 x setups, how is the narrow/wide ring?

So tonight was another double puncture night along the beautiful canal tow paths of south Leicestershire, frustrating.
I have run WTB pathways with their Kevlar guard and currently Schwalbe land...

Plenty of room at the seat stays, it's the chain stays that are the limiting width. I Built the frame for a 29er wheel with a 40.
Fork is a rigid 29er with tons of space.

I like the continental...

I have moved already from the 32 WTB Pathways, to the 38's I already had.
Loving the compliance but the bike is a little less nimble as expected.

As the UK (nearly) summer draws to a close, the...

My bamboo beast already weighs 14kg, I don't know if I would notice the extra weight of IGH or not, but I had most of the 10sp kit other than the single chain set from a previous build so that's what...

After seeing the OP's post about the 11-26 cassette on there, I would also just go 1X with a new cassette and rear mech. You can run a short cage with a 29 tooth, but it's not great. To go to a 32/34...

Nice!
I plumped for a cheap fixie square taper type chainset and put an alloy non ramped 44t ring on as the steel one weighed a ton! I used a 113mm MTB triple BB to put the chain line out to the...

Hi,
Wondering what my Schwinn is worth.
Chrome is in great condition, paint I would say good.
Tires and tubes are new, cables just cleaned up.
SA 3 speed serviced, works like new.

Good info, thanks guys.

Once the tension is to required, I was always told to go over and release tension or 'come back' to the final spoke tension. It is again de stressing the spoke threads and...

The range of a 2 x 10/11 set up now is such that a triple crankset is not needed, SRAM are pushing their 1 x 11 system with the same range as an older 2 x 10's.
7, 8, 9 or 10... The range can be...

Similar set up here.
1 x 10, 44t non ramped ring up front with bash guard, 11-36 XT cassette.
