I peddled about 55km today and it took me a good 5 hours. I can't really cover much distance on and off the sidewalks in Japan. It'd be a different story if I'm fast enough to ride on the road though.

This is the Panasonic Hurryer, the only model that fits my requirements of having a mountain bike body, tire and front shocks..

Electric bikes seem quite popular here in Japan. A lot of the moms sport a motor-assisted mamachari (mama's chariot), but I haven't seen too many electric mountain bikes.
