I must say, this entire thread makes me so happy...

I must say, this entire thread makes me so happy I live in Hawaii. If someone gave grief over cycling (or anything for that matter), they would be looked at like a bad work place citizen.

That makes a lot of sense, even though I never adjusted the upper or lower adjustment screws from their factory setting. Since it is shifting properly with me just holding the cable, I'll try it...

Well, got it unjammed. Just threading a cable through it and holding a few pounds pressure on the cable and working through the gears it seems to function properly. I guess I'll try to set it up...

Shimano 6703 shifter lasted 2 weeks. Don't know what happened.

(First off, I will be contacting Shimano tomorrow to return the shifter for warranty replacement.) EDIT: *Still going to call, but acknowledge this is my fault.* I thought I would write it up here...

I have about 2,000 miles on my DA 9000 with no cable problems. I find that my hands go numb faster using this set much faster than my 6700. Other than that I love it.
