I just use a wet rag, a little shot of degreaser in spots if needed. Salt is corrosive to any metal and probably not good for CF either. Thankfully, salt is easily dissolved in water.

Curious too. Been tempted by the Microsoft Band - HRM and GPS builtin. But the GPS software seems totally running-oriented, not sure how it works for cycling.

Electric shifting isn't really new - its like 5yrs old now. Its just really expensive for a marginal gain. I would love to try it, but not for what it sells for right now.
