I bought them to provide arch support and reduce pronation during my pedal stroke. I found them uncomfortable and removed them. YMMV

Specialized sells 'em, but you also have to buy their footbeds. A few companies sell either shims that go between your cleat and your sole or wedges that go between your footbed and the sole.
