Not true around here. The "C" groups are specifically set up to teach a newbie how to ride in a group, ride in a paceline, etc. And from what I understood the OP has never done a group ride.

Funny you mention that, it's been years since I owned it, and my recollection may be faulty, but I'm pretty sure I remember having trouble tightening or loosening bottle cage bolts with that tool.

Narrow streets in urban areas make lousy cycling. I used to cycle in Los Angeles. Very congested. But lots of wide streets with shoulders so it was quite tolerable.
