Thanks, it's about that bright in person after lots of rubbing and polishing compound. Wish the paint had been thicker and/or better quality, but what can one ask of a 30+ year old econobike. :)

I think it's an interesting demonstration of the difference in cycling use in Europe versus the US. Utility use is so common there that it's a no-brainer to have an airpump and a dyno with lights on...

I just rebuilt an old Trek 6K with Alivio DRs front and rear and an Alivio crankset with an SRAM 8spd cassette (it was on sale).
Running SRAM twist shifters, I couldn't ask for it to work better...
