+1.

Start thinking modest upgrades when things where out. Upgrading parts piecemeal is a sure road to spending a lot of money that would be better spent on a new bike.

I have a 1x setup. I do not run a wide range cassette simply because I don't encounter hilly terrain all that often. The main benefit is simplicity. It is very liberating only having to worry...

If possible, get a road bike to go with that bike. Bikes cannot be all things, although hybrids do an admirable job trying. Ultimately, no matter what you do, you will probably not be completely...

I would expect to have a discount off MSRP for year-end closeouts.

I bought a new Trek in the spring and paid MSRP. But my dealer was willing to swap tire sizes and install a kickstand for no...

I personally would keep the road bike and change the stem length, height and angle for more upright posture. The drop bar for me has so many hand positions that it is a huge boon for long rides.
