Looks like the decal is on the side and bottom of the downtube, fenders keep the rocks and mud of my downtube. YRMV.

Just pedal. Do what I do, leave my car at work, pedal home. In the AM, the only way to get to work is to pedal. Works for me.

Short day touring for me? Less then 30 miles or 4 hours. I usually try for 6 hours and 50 miles or so. Depends on hills, temps and such. Long days? Had many. My last tour in NH had a day of 11.5 hrs...

Big old wool sock, cut the toe off, between layers. I use some Dirt Rag Kneekers, sort of stretchy wool with grippers to hold up, great for those really cold days.

No room? They make bike stands that will fit two stacked just about anywhere. Just put it behind the couch that is moved out a bit. One bike? That's crazy talk. Closet, storage etc.
