I just replaced my old ultegra 11-27 with an 11-28. Replaced the chain also, sized the new one exactly to the old one. Worked perfectly.

Update on weird vibration

Bought and installed new plastic bushing in the mavic freewheel hub. Cost, $22. A whole new freewheel hub would have been $50. Worked great. Vibration gone. Hint: the little bits of sand paper...

Weird vibration

High frequency vibration comes on when coasting. Goes away when I start pedaling. Feels like a vibrating bed machine in my saddle.

Thanks for the input. Just ordered carbon tubular 60's. Final big decision was matte vs glossy. Went with the matte finish. The builder is a proponent of tape.
