take the bolt out put 2 screwdrivers in each...

take the bolt out put 2 screwdrivers in each side of space where bolt goes to act like a wedge to open up more and slide in a shim made from a popcan and re tighten it

alan s is correct (I learned this the hard way ) I snapped parts off inside hard drive and lost 100% information and unless your heavy dell is using a SSD drive I would stick to the backpack
