LOL, maybe you should have brought the cue sheet and a map?

Sugino OX601D (http://hubjub.co.uk/sugino-ox601d-crankset-200-p.asp) seems available from this UK seller, so minus the taxes it should be under 300USD.

Maybe I jinxed myself but I have a little saddle sore after spending 400km on my cambium. I don't know if it was the saddle or the knickers I was wearing, I hadn't used them for anything over a 100km...

Well I finished my first 400K of the year and it will probably be my only one I do this year, it's a tough distance... I wanted to sleep so badly at the 350km mark. I think with a bit more training...

For a modern crank I almost picked up a Sugino OX601D (http://hubjub.co.uk/sugino-ox601d-crankset-200-p.asp) but that was before the pound took a plunge and I went another direction. I would take the...

I've been surprised by some of the Velosports models that have passed through our local co-op, we just had a nice one with full 600 similar to the bike posted in this thread, it was pretty large too....

I don't think you're massively overweight and it might be possible to do it without any training. I think it'll be agonizing but if you are set on doing it you might make it. 300km a day for 3 days...

I think I started with nose point up a bit and that was most of the problem. I just kept making small adjustments until it felt "right" for me. It looks fairly close to level and my bars about level...

I've never used a leather saddle for long rides but I'm currently using my C17 cambium for brevets and other long rides. I don't know if I'd call it the perfect saddle but it generally doesn't bother...

Surly hurdy gurdy (http://surlybikes.com/parts/drivetrain/hurdy_gurdy) should work with steel front-facing horizontal dropouts. The directions for it also recommend using shimano style skewers.

I would consider the amount each bike has been ridden... a 2007 might have spent most of its life in the garage and be in better shape than a 2013 daily rider. Chances are the 2007 has more wear and...
