My understanding of cranks where the spider is not integral with the arm is they all will come loose eventully. Plenty of choices in new or used cranks with the spider and arm made as one piece.

Being a Clyde with room to spare I often overheat when riding, I'm also blessed/cursed with abundent body hair which tends to hold a warm layer of air next to me. Also it holds wicking fabrics away...

Must have room for fenders, built in tabs to simplfy removal and replacement a plus, should clear Nokian studded tires....
