I haven't of DX. But I could be out of the loop on Shimano fashion trends. Did you mean XT? If so then the XT would be lighter and more expensive. I doubt it would have any performance gains...

If you ever ride your bike in New York and park it, make sure you can see it because no one will confront a thief. This may be true for most large cities.
