This might sound weird, but it happens to me (despite the forward facing clamp); Clean and grease the seatpost/seatube. Dirt and moisture buildup there...

I hear they're pretty much based on the XT's with a little more weight.

Left overnight, that stuff welds anything. I heard Nasa use a similar technique.
