I'd recommend racing at Floyd Bennett Field. For those that don't know, FBF is an abandoned air strip at the far end of Brooklyn. Very windy, very flat, very hard. The field will usual split up...
Well, CRCA races still don't count. But all other park races (spring series, Charlie's series) count. Sorry, misunderstood you.
Nah, park races count for upgrades, assuming you place within points window depending on the amount of starters.

it all depends on what your strengths are, relative to the races that you are competing in. for example, here in nyc, it's quite easy to move up though the categories quickly if you are a sprinter....

as for it being the op's first "rave" of the season, let's just say i've been to more enjoyable raves before.

i don't know what you're training for, but unless you are doing 4-5 hour races you don't need to be riding 100 miles each day on the weekend.
why is everyone training so much?
i have the opportunity to race with the USPRO champ tomorrow.
In June I did a 22 lap PP race. All I can say is that it was a really boring 2.5 hours.
I wish AVD hadn't jumped the *** on having a second cat 5 race instead of the p123.
Yeah, Fitchburg in the past 2 years (don't know about years prior to that with the entire Wachusett Mt. climb) was never a climbers course. The main climb in the RR only takes like 8 minutes.
