1989 Schwinn 564.
thank you for that Robbie. ;)
You've won the battle. :thumb:
Hmm, thanks for the tip. I did have the seatpost out and didn't notice anything unususal with either the seat tube or post, other than the odd design that Schwinn used. I will take a closer look to...
Loving these aluminum catches posted here. Wish I could find an older Klein road bike in good shape without spending huge $$$, but it just ain't happening.
I did find this '89 Schwinn 564 on CL...
This is insightful, and explains the sizing quirks and ride qualities of these vintage Schwinns. Makes me wonder how the shorter wheelbase, curved seat tube Sprint would ride, when properly sized.
Schwinn Super Sport and Miyata 210 using conventional methods.
I remember this one.
I remember having a pair of Bata Bikers in the late 70's. They were pretty much the Chevrolet of biking shoes but seemed to get the job done.
Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe.
That looks like a great deal on a well made rack. Too bad their free shipping offer doesn't apply to USA orders.
Looking at the online Miyata catalogs, the top of the line Miyata 1000 came standard with front and rear Blackburn style racks, at least as far back as the 1981 model year. 1983 saw the Miyata 610...
I like the Nashbar Bell/Compass combo. It has been functioning well on our tandem, and sure comes in handy in traffic.

I will certainly shed a tear when they start taxing out of state internet sales, but as it is, I already pay my fair share. I count my blessings that Wa. doesn't have a state income tax. (yet)
CL has been good to me as of late. Within the last month, I have found a 1997 Specialized Ground Control Comp, a pair of his and hers 1972 Sshwinn Suburbans in Sierra Brown, with little signs of use,...
I just figured out the purpose of the single boss on my Koga-Miyata top tube. ;)
Nashbar might be a little off on their specs for this bike. I measured my seat tube at 18" from BB to the top of the stationary part, just above the seat clamp. Pretty sure these frames all came in...
Aside from the irony of being a tobacco company promotion, I agree, it's a great product. The original components are pitiful, but with proper upgrades, the Fuji folder is a very capable 4130 cromoly...
Sheldons site is very good and easy to understand.
Another wheelbuilding resource that I really like is Roger Musson's The Professional Guide to Wheel Building. I have it on my desktop for quick...
Very nice score on a great looking bike. :thumb:
I have the same bike that is all original, save for a wheel upgrade and Turbo saddle.
Glad to see the chrome stays cleaned up so nice. They...
