    Bending a Carradice Bagman Support

I recently purchased a Swift Industries saddlebag that is mounted traditionally to a leather saddle with loops. I love it. I was considering a bag support like the Carradice Bagman QR to have a quick...

I managed to remove the cartridges from the hub. I think they just need to be cleaned - one of them feels like it has a little fine grit inside. They have stamped on them, "6000 LB NTN."

So to get the axle assembly part, I would remove the locknuts and then tap out the axle with a mallet or something? The assembly seems to be press fit together.

  9. Replacement cartridge bearings for 1987 High Sierra Hubs

    Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find replacement sealed cartridge bearings that came on the 1987 Schwinn High Sierra High Flange Hubs? Also, are these cartridges just press fit into the hubs?

I'm leaning towards a saddlebag since it is less complex than installing a front bag, rack, decalleur setup. I like the Swift Industries small rear saddle bag. https://www.builtbyswift.com/products/7

I like it. Does the Bagman II-QR require those struts that connect to the rear rack braze-ons? Do those struts come with the Bagman kit?

Thanks for the reply. It is reassuring that the bike rides well under lightly loaded conditions since I don't ever plan on riding the bike with a heavy load. I definitely have a light-weight...

A company called Bagman makes a quick release system for saddlebags. And saddlebags themselves are approximately half of the cost of the same brand of front bag, and you don't need a front rack....

Thanks for the heads up on this. Someone in the other sub forum suggested I post here, but I will be sure to remember that for next time. I do think this is the more appropriate forum.

Well a boxy front Randonneur style bag would certainly fit. It might not be ideal because it could conceivably change the handling characteristics of the bike. Bikes that are not well designed to...
  18. Bob Jackson World Tour - Front Loading Handling Characteristics

    Hi,

I built up a Bob Jackson World Tour about a year and a half ago as my dream all-around bike. I have yet to ride it with any kind of load. I'm now at the point where I want to add either a 7L...
  19. Bob Jackson World Tour - Trail Measurement and Front Loading Characteristics

    Hi Everyone,

So about a year and a half ago I built my dream bike, an off the peg Bob Jackson World Tour. It is my all-around bike: long road rides, commuting, and light touring (hopefully one...

Thanks for this feedback. I just purchased a L&M Urban 800 because there was one online that was discounted 20% plus free shipping. The product seems to receive consistently good reviews and it is...
  21. Possible to replace battery on LM Urban?

I've been considering getting a new commuter light and I'm looking at either the Light and Motion Urban 800 or the Cygolite Expilion 850. I like that the Cygolite has a replaceable battery because...

Thanks for your feedback with the MS 808. They are priced pretty well at $89.00. I'm wondering what the $19.00 battery upgrade gets you. A longer lasting charge? I battery that just has a better...

    Magic Shine MJ-872

Anyone ever used a Magic Shine MJ-872 for commuting? Based on the road.cc review the beam pattern is broad and bright which is not good for the road. However, you can put it on low which is 30% of...
