Yeah, I see you can get cheap small tools. I just think it's lame shimano had to not use a standard hex key hole.
What 2 dollar shimano plastic one?
Nope, the star pattern is not a standard torx size. It's a proprietary shimano thing. There are only two tools out there for it: Park BBT-9 and Park BBT-10.
It would be useful to be able to preload one's bottom bracket with only a multi-tool.
Are there such things anywhere as hollowtech fixing bolts with hex heads instead of that stupid shimano star pattern?
Uniglide removal tool? Are you talking about a chainwhip?
Is this a cassette here or a thread on freewheel?
I find myself annoyed at this situation alot. I guess I've analyzed my feelings on a social-political level, but this line of reasoning makes sense to me. I usually just wait them out; why be in a...
Oh I love riding in the rain/snow/whatever inclement weather. Lets be honest though, after a couple solid hours of riding in a hard rain, I don't care what kind of super gore-tex shell you're...
Where: Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Population 65,000. We have nice cold snowy winters and usually hot/humid summers.
What: A couple bikes. One fixed gear/singlespeed with full fenders and rack for...
Every time I check this thread out, I end up getting so annoyed.
About a year ago I stumbled upon this bike on the web. This bike is made by Project Rwanda and has already been distributed to several thousand coffee farmers in Rwanda, hence the name. After a...
My fully loaded Coffee Bike in Glacier National Park this summer.
Well, the xtracycle bags only have the 3 straps going around the bag as well. A lot of the load is definitely on the middle strap over the front. I don't think it should be an issue though. I did...
Well, I received more webbing yesterday and finished up the first bag. The final product is definitely sweet.
So I've got a prototype bag nearly completed , but I ran out of webbing and tri-glides for the moment. For my first attempt at sewing heavy cordura and nylon webbing and such, the prototype is...
Yeah, I plan on bringing along a 24tooth for mountain passes and such.
Part number BR9121. You can check it out in QBP here.
The hose clamps that came with it were junk.
The Coffee Bike
About a year ago I was checking out cargo bikes on the internet and happened to stumble upon this bike. The Coffee Bike:...

One cause of this could be the actual frame. Is the bottom bracket exactly centered? Or maybe someone faced the bottom bracket improperly and took more material off one side than the other....
It wouldn't be bad. I've never used it. You should try it and tell us how well it works.
The problem probably has nothing to do with you QR skewer. Is your BB7 caliper set pretty tight before the ride? Is it rubbing slightly before the ride? This may cause it to heat up and expand....
I throw my bike in the living room and ride it tomorrow.
