I found a B66 attached to a Raleigh Sport ladies frame that appears to be a 1973 or so. The bike is dirty and has lots of surface rust on the bright parts. It looks complete and original, but there...

Being blind in one eye, I can still do stairs x 2 going up, but I descend them 1 x 1 very gingerly (using the hand rail). Monocular vision is a strange phenomenon to cope with after many years of...

When I over oil my hubs that have plastic oil ports, the oil drips out of the non-drive side around the axle (they all have kickstands and lean left - come to think of it, I lean left as well). On my...

That seat post bolt is a kludge. You'll need to find a new one - the bike frame looks to be pretty good.

My entire family goes to an old friend for haircuts and have done so since the late 70's (well not my son). He runs a salon that caters mainly to older women, but he can do any kind of head. Before...

I did it again. I saw an ad pop up on the local CL - 2 Raleigh Sports (coffee), 1 Raleigh Sprite (ladies coffee), and a Schwinn 3-speed (blue). I bought the larger Sports - been looking for one of...

I followed the videos after the one you posted. They really say a lot about how successful Schwinn was at one point. They also jumped on the BMX craze and did well there. I think we will (in this...

Reasonably priced repros of old seat bags

Are there any reasonably priced seat bags that approximate the cheap bags supplied with the Raleighs and Schwinns from my youth? You know what I am talking about - the vinyl-coated cotton fabric seat...

I do not own any valuable bikes. All of mine are mid-range road, mountain, or hybrid - good chrome-moly frames and components but nothing special. The 3 speeds are gas pipe, but I love them anyway...
