    Bruce:

I'm curious - why is a 1X better than a 2X? Is it a matter of the angle of entry of the spoke?

Both good routes. You can be assured that traffic is very light on all roads you picked, except Hwy 1 (Hwy84 can be busy on weekends). But Hwy 1 has very good shoulders. So, it'll be very good...

My sentiments exactly. Didn't know about the cliff. I'm adjusting to becoming one speed. Decades of instinct take over when there's a rider in front of me and I reflexively want to catch him. ...

I'm still riding, but on a recumbent now. The ride rhythm on a 'bent is so different than an upright road bike (fast on flats, slow on hills), I don't ride with a group anymore. Like Bostic, 99% of...

Speaking of electric bikes, I just saw this all-contained electric wheel, designed to fit onto any existing bike and turn them into an e-Bike. Seems like a great idea!

Given how small the rear hatch area is, the bike is wedged in nicely between the rear seat and hatch door. The saddle takes and bike bag absorbs any movement perfectly. So, no need to tie it down.
  11. New application for folding bikes - Electric cars

I recently made the conversion to carbon free transportation - solar panels and full electric car. I got a Chevy Spark - an amazing car! Not just environmentally friendly, but also 0-60 in 7.5...

We lost Pete - Taxi777. He was the spiritual "glue" of the group.

The group drifted apart when he got hurt and had other problems. Stopped riding for a while and disappeared from here.

I went on this ride also. The wind was incredible. I was blown off the road 3 times, once into the other lane. Countless other "heart in the throat" moments. I've also never had to lean my bike...

I used 11-28 with older 105s and they work fine. I used mine with compact cranks up front. Don't see any reason why they won't work with your triple cranks.

Wow, that surprises me. My experience was just the opposite. The Brompton sits too upright to offer any kind of spirited performance. The Tikt allowed more of a road bike feel, in my experience. ...

I do miss that bike. It was so much fun to make and the memories with my son are priceless.

I'll vote for a Tikit for your use. It rides very very nice, and will appeal to your inner "roadie". It folds extremely fast, and most importantly, pretty small. Here's a picture of it next to my...
