It not need , but it doesn't hurt . It up to you if you want to or not .
I think he referring to the arm that the anchor 's bolt is running thou . he doesn't have much room to move it if at all . Anyway to the OP yes you cam bent or move it , but I would not very often ....
Yes that great and you should do that the next time .
Yes your housing does need to be longer . Have more of a loop to it .
Yes they did. But I have found any housing will work .
Yes that the way it is . With the seat stay ,the cable shouldn't rub on the tire .
For being a women's frame , it the way it done . The downside is when it get wet it will rust and you need to replace more often .
You can use cable liner too . It be at your LBS , just ask for a few inches of it .
if it the left arm ,replace it ,cost about $ 15 . if it the right one tell the new owner about it and give them a break on the price so they can replace it .
Replace the bolt at any LBS or hardware store. As far the star nut goes , replace it with a new one or take a bolt and hammer to straighten it . It would sit 15 mm below the top .
I thank you ThermionicScott for your apologize and I agree with you about that . Things do happen and I have see a lot in my 30 's years of serving bicycle repairs . Thank you again .
it was just a suggestion . thinking maybe the op was putting it in wrong since they said it was hard turning in . plus mgr. have been known to mess thing up before .
I would go with # 1 myself . That way you can use any derailleur you want . You shouldn't need a guard for the front .

They still being made and found on lower price bikes , the ones you see around the $ 400 .00 mark . And can be brought from QBP for replacement . Yes Tange Brand was /is one of them as others .
Try the LN series . For whatever reason Shimano LN are reverse from the UN .
Yes it is , I have Done a few in my day and know what I am Talking About . If the person read the info . sleet that come with the BB they would see that .
Most of the lower Shimano sealed BB go into the BB reveres . Where the lip go on the non drive side and the plastic cup go into the drive side . Look at the sealed unit and compare the treads to...
Make sure the cable is on the correct side of the bolt on the derailleur , if not it can throw off the derailleur when shifting .
Maybe he need new cables and housing . The cables should be replace once a year anyway . Could also be the grease in the shifters is dry and need to be flush out . Plus oil the moving parts on the...
I lucky too for being on the west coast and 30 miles from the ocean . I ever have it happen to my bikes , but owning a repair shop I have see it on other's bikes' wheels .
So the spokes don't bond with the hub . On the west coast the salt in the air can bond the two metal . Like seatposts and seat tube or the stem in the steering tube .
The Ultegra shifter are better than the 105 in looks and a little better in performance . Yes they do wear out over time as with any other shifter . In most case the grease harden and need to be...
