Lobotomy this time?
I forget where I read it, but a relevant quote is, "Bike racing is the only sport where you can train hard for 15 hours a week and still suck." I'm Exhibit A.
The only 11 speed hubs I have are Powertap, and the supplied spacer works perfectly with ten speed cassettes.
Tom - Great report, and great season!
PS - How come you put it in the training thread rather than the race report thread? :D
6x1' VO2 max intervals today, first try at these. Schedule called for five, but they felt kinda easy so I did an extra one. Power was 129-141%, averaged ~100 rpm for each. Something that bears on...
IMO, 5800 105 feels like 7800 DA, but with nicer hoods and an additional speed.
My 500 dropped power and cadence for about five seconds in the middle of an interval this morning. It only has...
End of recovery week. TSS for the week is 203, 2828 kj, 95 miles. First VO2 max intervals tomorrow.
Congrats, podium boy! :)
Muscle is heavier than fat, and some of the former has replaced some of the latter?
Me too. Need to drop another 15 lbs. to get to ~10% body fat. Don't know how much farther it would be healthy to go.
What shovel said. My bike came with 5800 105 but generic brakes; I replaced them with 5800 105 brakes and noticed the improvement, believe there's a difference in leverage. And yeah, you must shift...
Oh, so you gotta rub it in about how there are no hills down here, huh? Thanks, buddy! I'm from up around Altoona (of Tour de 'Tuna fame) and get a little homesick every time I check out your...
My coach has put up the VO2 max build, starting Tuesday and going for two weeks. We're starting cautiously, 5x1' with 3' RBI, then 7x1' for the next one. We're targeting 120+% for the intervals. A...
Matt - Glad you stayed upright!
FWIW, 5800 105 feels better than 7900 DA on my bikes, and you can get it from the UK for <$400 shipped.
With the results everyone here has been having, I'm almost glad I'm not racing this year...well, at least not at this point in the year. ;) Maybe if everyone else is finished by September I won't...
Quit talkin' 'bout me.
I went ahead and ordered them, along with the spare hardware. Now I just need to do the crankset swap and order tires for the 303s to replace the nasty Gatorskins on them.
Yup. Implanted the inert seeds in my prostate yesterday. That was the most invasive part. Pushed today's planned ride to tomorrow to let the blood clear out of my urine (a normal thing after this...
