    6 lbs even.

I'm pretty sure I'm going with the orange but it's really not burnt. The photoshop made it look that way but it's actually a pretty bright orange with lots of pearl in it.

So here's an update for you guys...

I finally had time to bring the frame and fork over to my buddy's shop and spend soime time in the media blasting room. I removed all the old paint and now it...

I've found that I do not require the larger chainring on the front. With the kind of riding I do I never used it when I had it so I just started building bikes without it. On my current bike I have a...

The bike does not feel sluggish at all. I was a bit concerned that it would be because of a few reviews that I read. Fortunately it wasn't the case. It may have something to do with how I have it...

I don't ride drops but if I did I think I would have went with the 56cm. So I sized up with the intention of running a flat bar.

    Really? I beg to differ.

A quick Google search informed me that a stock 7.9 fx weighs 21 + lbs so pretty much what my stock Sirrus weighed WITH heavy/crappy Formula C1 hydraulic disc brakes.

    Giant CoMax???

Just curious as I'm not familiar with Giant's offerings.....

What exactly is "CoMax"? Their website calls it composite which I thought always referred to plastic.

Agreed. I have had a few alloy bikes and maybe it's just because the Vaya is new to me but it is the best bike I've ever ridden. None of the alloy bikes I've owned have even come close.

I think your bike exhibits the pleasant ride characteristics because of the carbon fork and the larger volume tires. Have you ridden a "modern" aluminum road bike? They are stiff, harsh, and not much...

I don't find that to be the case at all. Aluminum is very stiff and the ride is quite harsh unless you have large volume tires or add a carbon fork and bars to dampen the vibration.

    I wouldn't say I prefer it but.....

Steel is MUCH more comfortable. Carbon is great for light weight/go fast but it's very stiff and although it does dampen the road vibrations, steel does so much...
