I backed out of signing up for the Amtrak at the last minute as well. The more I thought of $300 for a ride I could do on my own just didn't make sense.

At 5'7" tried a XCal 17.5 with 29 no clearance. Tried a 15.5 with 27.5 felt too small. Ended up with a 2014 Xcal8 that was 15.5 with 29 wheels and it was a perfect fit. Rides awesome!
