they are not worth the money imo. heavy, come with generic parts, if you are lucky enough to get a box with all the parts. From what ive seen and heard it is not uncommon to get a bike missing pieces...

i have a bar end lever and a cross lever on my compact drops to allow me to have multiple braking positions depending on where im riding. But thats not practical for quick removal at the track.
doesnt look look like you have much drop out to work with as far as chain tension?

i did this with a cross lever and a tt lever mounted at the end of my drops to give me a cleaner look and let me have a lever when im in the drops

id say a hard tail that has a lock out on the fork with some street friendly tires. That would be my personal choice over a hybrid anyways.
looks like a standard BSA bottom bracket. I would recommend a shimano UN55 68x110 or 68x113 if you are going to be getting a single speed crank set.
