This always got me motivated:
That would be awesome if it were proven to be true. I really wouldn't doubt it. Their run during the past 2 Olympics was probably one of the best of any sports program in history. They won...
All these years and I didn't know that. Heh. Thanks!
Ha! I'm O+ So, similar, but I can only donate to + and receive from O- or O+
Bauge was totally hinting that there may have been some "Performance Enhancing" going on. But, really, he's just an athlete that was really confident and very surprised to be beat by a...
One note: Get a single speed 3/32 chain as opposed to a road 3/32 chain. Road chains are designed to move laterally to allow for gear switching. Single speed chains will not move laterally (very...
I know, right?
I'm reminded of Bauge being pissed at the fact that he'd always owned Kenny up until the Olympic final where Kenny beat him in 2.
On a related note...there is a magic cadence number that should be used with all of the above. This number shows up in all sprint events (F200, TS, Match Sprints, Keirin).
To calculate foot speed:
Cadence = Revs/min
Distance = Pi * r^2 = pi * (cranklength)^2 = divide by 1000 to get meters
Speed = Distance / Time
Footspeed (m/s) = (pi * cranklength^2)/1000 * 60s...
I came to the same conclusion on my own. But, I didn't call it tangential speed. I called it "circumferential speed" (the speed at which your foot is moving in the circle) or simply...
Your my #1 fan, [fan_first_name]. I think about you all the time. I can't wait to get back to [fan_home_city].
See you soon!!!!
I even recall a story about a US domestic pro who raced elite track nationals and used shorter cranks on his bike for mass start races then swapped them out for longer cranks for his pursuits.
Hi welcome to the forum and the sport!
To be honest...
Some folks will say, "Between 165 and 172.5...it doesn't matter. Your times will be the same."
Some folks will say, "Ride the...
Oh, and I forgot to mention:
The UCI all but banned the Sphinx bars in 2012.
Rainstar, those bars were $50 for a reason. Scattos retail for similar MSRP prices as the Sphinx and retain like...
Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Go do a few track workouts and you'll quickly realize:
1) Why having a basic set of chainrings and cogs is a necessity, not a luxury.
2) Why having such short...
Welcome, back to the track forum, TT. We missed you.
Yeah, they are hard to find.
Look for the Gipiemme Tecno 416. It's my understanding that Gipiemme made rims for Campy and the 416 looks exactly like that Shamal to me.
Getting back in the gym after a season (and the break after that season) always sucks!
Sorry, I didn't intend any disrespect. I sort of honor the anonymity of people around here. So, in doing that, I make some (wrong) assumptions.
Congrats on the win!
Not sure if Taras got the...
When you start losing by fractions of a second, then consider investing in aero wheels.
If you are losing by full seconds, the wheels won't buy you much.
All of the things mentioned on this...
That's great news!
I hate to break it to you, but you'll need some money to get a basic set of equipment and pay race fees. Start planning now.
It's not an inexpensive sport like basketball.
Being that you are 6'4", you can get an "anthropomorphic exception" being that you are taller than most humans.
I'm not clear on what that does for you. I think it means you can employ a bike...
