What would you consider to be next season? Any planned changes to the next gen of Novas?
Has the Nova been discontinued, or simply out of stock at the moment?
I don't know if it is the same set up as the 8FS, but a while back someone made changes to the Downtube Mini's suspension design, including mods at the pivot. Here's the link:
Are the Novas and the 9 Speeds made by the same factory? While both are very nice, they seem to have different (fabrication) styles to me.
Yes, pix would be great :D:D:D
Ok, you know that you can't just throw that out there w/o some details, right?
C'mon Mister P...throw us a bone
I see this is your first post, so welcome to the fold :thumb:
As for your questions, I'm not sure you should upgrade any parts until after you've ridden the bike a little (sounds like you don't...
Looks like the Downtube Novas have been reduced to $299 (from $329). I probably shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but am wondering why the price was lowered. Perhaps clearing out the 2013...
Good point...I was thinking of myself :p
I don't know...now I'm thinking #4 which is quite stylish as well.
I would choose option #2. It gives you a nice balance between headtube support and standover clearance.
Ok, summer is officially here...so what's the latest on the new Mini?
Speaking of fotos, Mr P, weren't you supposed to post a few of your personal steed? :innocent:
A few years ago Dahon did the limited edition "Hon Solo" that was kinda like a Dutch bike:
I'm betting the Bahamas have some great, year-round cycling weather. I'd be curious to see the company owner's personal Downtube...how its been customized, etc. Any chance of a pic? :ride:
Since you'll have the camera out, how about snapping a photo of the company CEO's personal bike. It's always interesting to see how the producer of a product (bike or otherwise) customizes it. :)
I always liked the idea of a derailleur-spec'd Mini, but the Capreo drivetrain was pricey, pushing the original shipped price close to $600. I know there are clearance issues with 16 inch wheels,...
Lots o' discussion about IGHs. Does this mean we will not see a "Mini Capreo" version with a derailleur? :innocent:
I see there are new photos of the Downtube FS in red and yellow on the Downtube website...both look great :thumb:
That's great :thumb:
Here's info about a guy who used a Dahon Jetstream for some extreme off-road duty:
I think the main reason anyone would buy the BAs is for their "suspension" qualities as they aren't a fast tire. If you're interested in speedy, high pressure tires then supension is probably not...
Nice write up. Sounds like the stock rubber is a thumbs down. If you do replace them, what tires would you choose?
Where is this bike available?
Something is not right here...if you look at the main pic the fork appears to have uber-rake, but zooming into the mini-pic (one on left), the fork rake looks more normal.
