Just a parts bin special.
I've had this bike since I was a teenager. I have kids of my own now, but none of them have interest in riding BMX. After thinking long and hard, I decided it's time to let go of my old Robinson.
Early in the season, I was doing exactly this. It wasn't until I chose lower gears and upped my cadence did the pain finally go away.
It sort of looks like a 50mg Vyvanse.
Sounds like a great ride. I found that not only does my Cruzbike Silvio fit in great on group rides, but it allows me to keep up with the fast group...in comfort. Sure, it is obvious that some of the...
Hey folks. It's been a while since I posted here, but Target has clearance-priced their Kent Fixie at about $35. I picked one up last night just because it's too good of a deal to pass.
Jen Green created this badge for a bike I built for the PA Breat Cancer Coalition back in 2007. The pictures don't do her work justice; it was like a piece of jewelry.
The holes for the screws/rivets that mount the headbadge are consistent with the alignment on most Cinelli's I have seen.
Oh God...I looked at the link you sent and thought that had to be some kind of joke.
It's worth about $50, but I'll step up to $75 just because I like shiny red things.
I agree with the top tube comment. It looks as if there is some damage from the bar striking the tube. Hopefully it's just paint damage.
Seller sounds like an older gentleman who has no idea about this bike. He has several bikes listed, so I imagine he is a flipper. His ad reads:
Mivata 21 Speed Road Bike - $195 (W Columbia)...
Let's turn this into a BF group buy. I'm in for 5 units.
Good advice
"Oh...your frame is made with Columbus SLX? Not bad."
But seriously, I like the decals/labels. It's nice to know what tubeset is.
I'm not sure why I love this bike so much.
Wow. Just beautiful...what can I say?
I've actually considered a similar colour scheme for this Zeus. Don't be too upset if I end up copying yours a little. :)
Part of the powdercoating process involves media blasting to remove the old finish and corrosion. I would look for a shop that specializes in motorcycles and has a portfolio of custom work or a shop...
I like restoring and riding vintage bikes because the old steel has a soul...as if it holds the stories of the hands that crafted it. Yes, I know it's an odd notion, but I tend to anthropomorphize...
Thanks for the compliments, the Zeus is in much better shape, but the Zullo was a gorgeous piece of workmanship and was worth the effort (though my wife might disagree). As for skills, I think it is...
This is the point where I would have said "I was looking for the Sushi place..."
I took my Zeus that I am restoring to a shop where the chief mechanic actually "gets it" to have the BB removed,...
How did you remove the rivet from the seatpost? I have a Zeus seatpost, which is a copy of your Campagnolo post, and mine is in need of the same treatment.
I'm not sure if I will go with decals or mask and spray my own Zeus branding. Decals are definitely cheaper!
I like the idea. I am planning to do a candy powdercoat with a metallic silver beneath. Maybe I could have the "faux chrome" become the silver and mask the candy to just the colored areas. Hmmm.
I ride an Ultegra Di2-equipped tandem at least once a week. For all the added cost, I don't see a benefit from it.
