I found about this trail last week... I went from Claremont to Maple ave...round trip about 38 miles. Like everyone else says, it would be a nice trail if it werent for the frequent street crossings....
The ugliness is a theft prevention feature.
AHA...I always assumed the wind only bothered me on this trail because I ride a hybrid.
Cool...I bought stuff mail order from Tree Fort Bikes now that I live in Southern California...when I lived in Canton, MI, I never bought anything from them.
I have about 1200 miles on mine, purchased in January of this year...the only problem is that now I want a road bike.
I went. It was fun. Not the place to try to set speed records, but a nice little day out enjoying Los Angeles from angles that are otherwise impossible to catch. I love these events. 344628
CalamariChris...you are my hero. I've done bits and pieces of your ride, but never all together.
I try to stick to paved bike paths like Marvin Braude, LA RIO, etc, but sometimes, it's just really convenient to ride on the streets. I grit my teeth and hope for the best, and hope if I get hit,...
I bought a hybrid after not riding a bike for years...I kind of wish I had gotten a road bike. I feel like I'm pedaling a sailboat half the time.
I didn't get a bike with that thing because it looked like it would break.
I have a 2013 21" Fuji Absolute 1.4. I'm 5' 11" 195 lbs with shorter arms and legs than typical for 5 11. I put a shorter stem on my 1.4, and it's been perfect ever since. Performance bike has the...
Sorry to hear this happened...don't let it stop you from being a helpful person.
What flavor was the big gulp?
i rode my Hybrid 51 miles on Saturday. On pavement/ streets/beach boardwalk/ very light off road I averaged 16 mph over the entire journey. I have gained a hell of a lot of stamina and strength since...
I bought a Fuji Absolute 1.4 as a xmas 2012 present to myself...I'm going to hit 1000 miles on it tommorrow (i have a 1/2 day vacation :)).
I have a 21" frame..it's the right size for my height, but...
i put a new stem on my bike today...i rode it up and down my street about 400 feet without a helmet...but not something I consciously set out to do.
So Comeback...The weather this weekend was ridiculously good....cooler than usual, about 80F most places, partly sunny...
Yeah 1998 says "spruce green" which mine is, and the frame and fork are both steel.
Put it out by the trash, someone will grab it before the trash man comes, they will use it or sell for a couple of bucks to someone that will enjoy it for a while.
My 1999 (?) Univega Via Montega. I bought it June 2012...I hadn't had a bike in years. It was replaced in Dec 2012 by a 2013 Fuji Absolute 1.4 . I found I really enjoy bicycling around...
I'm going to try this saturday:
And ciclavia Sunday.
I bought a Fuji Absolute 1.4 about 6 months ago...looking at your bike and mine, at first i thought i got ripped off, but then I noticed several key differences:carbon fork, 700x28 tires, deep skinny...
I ride on paved trails in LA/OC. Very occaisionally I hit a rough patch of ground that makes me wish I had suspension. But 95% of the time, I'm glad I am not being weighed down by some crappy...
