Do you have any word on the injuries?
I was in the break and we had no time to react. The move was just forming and we came out of that corner at about 35mph and had to veer hard to the right to get around the car. My teammate went down...
Judging by the map they have on the website they didn't change the course this year. It's a touch easier that the course from two years ago, but more technical and still really tough.
It's arguably the hardest crit of the year. Fast, lots of accordion, and a couple of short (but hard) rises.
In such cases it also helps to have an enormous chip on your shoulder.
Besides Palomar I'd suggest heading out to Pine Valley and hit Pine Creek/Sunrise Hwy/Kitchen Creek.
I'm racing there this weekend. How bad is it going to suck?
Sweet, I hadn't seen that picture yet. We were delayed by 35 minutes and they shortened our race to 60 minutes. I knew it was going to be a while when I saw them immobilizing his neck. I hope the guy...
Thanks. This was actually my first 1/2 crit podium. Definitely a confidence booster. I never thought I'd podium a crit, win a jersey, and move into the top 10 in the SoCal Cup in the same weekend.
Ontario Airport Crit (P/1/2/3) 3rd place
After the TTT yesterday another teammate convinced me to come out to the Ontario Airport Crit (P1/2/3). It's 3 corners with a long straight exposed...
Wheelbuilder.com is based in El Monte and is one of the best custom wheel builders in the world. Not cheap, but the product is as good as it gets.
My team won the SoCal District TTT today (4 man open). We lost a man less than 5 miles in but managed to pull it together and ended up with the fastest time of the day. I'm very excited to order my...
The base was open this morning, but Old 101 was closed starting at the parking lot/gate at Las Pulgas.
Hamilton isn't that steep. They were probably doing 40-45mph tops. It also looks a lot closer on TV than it feels in an actual race.
I used GC and stage placing from Cascade last year for 2->1. Although FWIW I would have been within a couple of points without that result.
Yes. He's also a pro mountain biker.
Nope, I hate that race. Crappy pavement, horrible parking, and tons of crashes. There's a small chance that I'll do Death Valley Stage Race next weekend, but most likely I won't race again until the...
Let me guess, the Trek Store? I saw those in the bargain bin the other day. I actually just switched from 42cm Rotundos to 40cm Ergosums and couldn't be happier.
We split the pot evenly every race. No questions asked. However, it is perfectly acceptable to decline a payout if you don't feel you deserve it for some reason.
A Road Bike 4U in Irvine has a comfortable lounge area with an espresso machine and a big screen TV. I imagine they'll be running Giro and ATOC coverage every day.
Wednesday Morning- Pendleton
Thursday- Legoland practice crit at 6pm
I'm relatively nearby. Send me a PM and I can show you some of the good riding out to the east.
Thanks. The race was on my local training roads and it was my first A race of the year. I'm extremely happy.
3rd place in the P/1/2 at San Luis Rey Road Race after being in the break for 70 of 103 miles. It hurt like hell. I cramped up a few times in the last 15 miles while the remaining riders from break...
You don't need a license to join a club. You only need it when you start racing. Considering you've only been riding for about a month that most likely won't be until later much later this year or...
4th today at Santiago Canyon TT. Power was good, pacing was spot on, and my time (25:17) was quick. Unfortunately it just wasn't quick enough. I also had a chance to welcome RacerEx to the...
